Showing today at the Film Africa 2012 festival in London, Soul Boy was directed by the Ghanaian-Kenyan Hawa Essuman with a screenplay by the Kenyan writer Billy Kahora. It was shot on location in Kibera, Nairobi, with the support of a German team.
The film follows 14 year old Abila (Samson Odhiambo) on a mission to recover his father’s soul, for which he must complete 7 tasks.
